Commercial litigation
The team have considerable experience of topics in commercial litigation. The partners are experienced at setting up companies and LLPs (including offshore vehicles), advising on a range of commercial law topics including intellectual property issues, such as registered trademarks.
Recent work has included:
Supply contracts. Contract negotiation for supply of a wide range of commercial, commodity and utility products.
Insurance. Advising on claims under insurance contracts, including issues of misrepresentation and non-disclosure, and mis-selling of cap and collar products.
Commercial litigation. The firm has extensive experience of litigation in the specialist divisions of the High Court (including the Commercial Court) as well as arbitration and county courts. Disputes have been in relation to a wide range of business transactions (novation of contracts, management contracts, joint ventures of a variety of types, property development etc.)
Building Disputes. We deal in all aspects of building disputes including adjudication.
Property Disputes. Disputes over covenants, easements and boundaries and other aspects of property.
Intellectual property. Advising in relation to copyright and registered trademarks.
Competition law. Advising client on competition issues ranging from water competition, liberalising of medial markets and water supply.
Procurement law. Advising clients on the application of the European rules in relation to utilities.
Peter Krick heads our litigation.
Peter has over 25 years commercial litigation expertise and brings experience of advocacy for both claimants and respondents at all levels of hearing in the Employment Tribunal, County Court, Magistrates court, Coroner’s court, and at public enquiries before the Traffic Commissioner He acts for both claimants and respondents in a full spectrum of claims in the Employment Tribunal to include unfair dismissal, constructive dismissal, redundancy, minimum wage, TUPE and discrimination claims and for both employers and employees in a variety of internal disciplinary and appeal hearings in the private, local authority and public service sectors. Peter’s practice extends to all areas of contract advisory work and dispute resolution, ranging from defending claims for loss of business and disruption following construction of undersea pipeline on behalf of an international gas transit company, through to right of way disputes, passing off actions and the drafting of software development contracts, agency and commercial supply agreements.
